Blue Lights on Fire Engines! This is a big step forward in enhancing the safety of our first responders and the public during emergency situations. Why blue lights? They're proven to be more visible in low-light and adverse weather conditions, making emergency scenes safer. After a successful advocacy campaign, supported by a collaborative effort, the Province of Alberta has approved a year-long trial for 12 of our vehicles. This trial will focus on vehicles that respond to incidents in high-traffic areas. The blue lights will be used only when the engines are parked, improving visibility from all angles and alerting motorists to our presence. We're excited about the potential benefits and grateful for the support from all involved. Let's all do our part: slow down and move over for emergency vehicles. Together, we can make Calgary safer.
A game-changer for safety
