Emergency Preparedness Week, from May 5-11, 2024, is an annual event across Canada to encourage people to prepare for potential emergencies. The Calgary Emergency Management Agency (CEMA) recognizes the event and has various activities and resources to help Calgarians prepare. These include visiting an emergency preparedness booth,
downloading an Emergency Action Plan, creating a home video series, and providing resources for kids. The Calgary Emergency Management Agency has created a video series in multiple languages to help Calgarians prepare and protect their homes. Children aged 7-12 can also participate in the free online program Ready Squad. These resources can be accessed online at calgary.ca/getready, and Calgarians are encouraged to follow the City's social media channels during Emergency Preparedness Week for more information on activities and how to prepare for emergencies.
