Ward 7 Townhalls to Discuss Zoning Changes

Updated: May 15

Listen, Learn, and Lead.

At the heart of any vibrant community lies open communication and active engagement. That's why Councillor Wong and the Ward Seven office are dedicated to ensuring that as many community voices as possible are heard when it comes to the proposed citywide residential rezoning. With the public hearing scheduled for April 22, we're taking proactive steps to inform and involve our residents so we can understand the community's thoughts towards Rezoning. To achieve this, we've organized three community town halls across the Ward. These sessions aim to provide insights into zoning regulations, land uses, and development permits. It's not just about disseminating information; it's about fostering meaningful discussions on how these proposed changes might impact each member of our community personally. Our commitment to communication doesn't end there. Following the conclusion of all three town hall sessions, we'll compile an answer sheet addressing the most frequently asked questions from the Q&A sessions with Councillor Wong and City Administration. This resource will be readily available on this page, ensuring that even those who couldn't attend the sessions can access valuable information and shape their thoughts on the proposed changes.

If you are unable to attend one of our sessions but would like to share your thoughts on the proposed rezoning, please contact our office at Ward7@Calgary.ca or if you wish to submit your comments to all of City Council please submit your thoughts to the City Clerks. At the core of our efforts is a belief in the power of community engagement. We understand that the decisions we make today will shape the future of our neighborhoods for decades to come, and we want every resident to be part of that conversation. Together, let's build a stronger, more inclusive community—one where everyone's voice matters.
