How will the postponement of residential street sweeping in Calgary affect the cleanliness of neighborhoods?

Updated: May 15

Due to snow and ice buildup, the City of Calgary is postponing residential street sweeping in Scenic Acres, Somerset, Riverbend, Quarry Park, Willow Park, Wildwood, Spruce Cliff, and Shaganappi on Tuesday, April 30, 2024. This is to ensure the safety and effectiveness of our sweeping equipment.

Sweeping proceeds as scheduled in Bridgeland, Panorama Hills, Whiteh

orn, and University Heights.

Unfinished streets will have sweeping dates moved until June 2024. Calgary.ca/sweep posts impacted neighbourhoods' updated sweeping schedules within 24 hours of postponement.

All other sweeping continues today.

Today, we may check neighbourhoods hit by snow and ice to verify sweeping during the snowstorm fulfills our criteria.

Weather allowing, citywide sweeping will continue on Wednesday, May 1, 2024. Forecasts will be monitored, and activities will be adjusted by the City.

Your participation is crucial. Visit Calgary.ca/sweep and use our address lookup or sign up for alerts to determine when your street will be swept. Weather-rescheduled sweeping will take place in June 2024. We highly recommend signing up for street sweeping notifications at Calgary.ca/sweep to stay updated.
