The City of Calgary continues to work on essential infrastructure projects to maintain and improve our roadways. Please be aware of the following upcoming and ongoing lane closures and detours in and around downtown Calgary.

Road Closures and Detours Update:
Ongoing through winter: the westbound right lane of the 4 Ave flyover will be closed (one lane opened).
Ongoing until April 30, 2025: Mission Bridge full closure between Elbow Drive S.W. and Roxboro Drive S.W.
Ongoing until June 27, 2025: 4 Ave S.E. two right lanes at 1 St S.E. closed from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily (three lanes open).
December 9 – March 21, 2025: 5 Ave S.W. at 6 St S.W. alternating work areas with either two right lanes and sidewalk closed, or three left lanes closed. Work is at night and completed in phases.
January 6 – March 21, 2025: 9 Ave S.W. two right lanes closed at 10 St S.W. for ENMAX work (two lanes open).
January 6 – March 28, 2025: 6 St S.W. at 5 Ave S.W. two right lanes and east sidewalk closure 24/7 for ENMAX work (one lane opened).
February 1 - May 2: 5 Ave S.W. between 2 St S.W. and 1 St S.W., the two right lanes will be closed for ENMAX manhole repairs (three lanes open during peak periods).
February 17 – June 21: Centre St S. between 8 Ave & 9 Ave two-way traffic on east side of road for ENMAX vault replacement (two lanes open).
February 21 - March 10: Northbound 7 St S.W. between 10 Ave S.W. and 11 Ave S.W. will be closed.
February 20 - March 2: 15 Ave S.W. between 5 St S.W. and 6 St S.W. will see daily road closures between 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. 5 St S.W. in this area will also see a single lane closure during this time (one lane open).
February 24 - March 6: At the intersection of 7 St S.W. and 12 Ave S.W., 7 St S.W. will be fully closed and the left lane, along with the cycle track along 12 Ave S.W. will be closed daily from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. (two lanes open). Also between March 1-2, the two right lanes on 12 Ave S.W. will be closed (one lane opened).
March 1 at 7 am - March 3 at 5 am: Northbound 1 St S.W. between 5 Ave S.W. and 6 Ave S.W. will be fully closed.
February 28 at 8 pm - March 3 at 5 am: The two right lanes will be closed on 4 Ave S.W. between 5 St S.W. and 6 St S.W. (two lanes open).
March 1: At the intersection of 11 Ave S.W. and 4 St S.W., two northbound lanes will be closed on 4 St S.W. (one lane opened) and two westbound lanes on 11 Ave S.W. will be closed (one lane opened).
March 1 - 3: 15 Ave between 7 St S.W. and 8 St S.W. will only be accessible to local traffic
Special Events Impacting Traffic:
Safety Expo 2025 (March 12-13) – Expect lane closures on Macleod Trail S.E. from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.
St. Patrick’s Day Race (March 16) – Road closures on 19 St S.W., 21 St S.W., and 58 Ave S.W.
